Beginners NTKS:

Feed your chao, take care of it, pet or hold it once in a while, don't let it drown, and make sure to keep it out of trouble, and don't spoil it! Don't Abuse your chao whatever you do!!

Advanced NTKS

Don't raise your Dark Chao with a Hero Character and vise versa, don't your chao swim for too long or it will get a cold(Visit Chao personality For More info), Don't give your chao a fruit it doesn't like, Don't give one chao too many chaos drives or others will get jealous, Don't let a chao fight another chao, and Don't let a Spoiled Chao start an evil gang!
